FROM THE DESIGN PROCESS AND THE CONNEXION WITH THE CLIENT TO THE HONOUR OF SEEING YOUR ART BEING PART OF SOMEONE'S HOME OR BUSINESS
One of my passions is to create new eco fibre art commissions.
I started creating pieces for myself, inspired by other macramé artists, or just because I wanted to learn a new pattern or knot.
But there was a shift around May time this year when I felt ready and confident of what I could achieve as an artist, when I knew I could stand my ground a create my pieces.
I have since then, worked in various commissions for businesses and homeowners to create pieces of eco fibre art for them.
And I can say that it is my absolute favourite area of the business.
To listen to what my clients are after, analyse the space. Listen to understand what works for them, and their house or business.
Create a Mood board, play about with designs, colours, shapes and of course... fibres.
And then talk to the client, see what works and what doesn't. Adapt, change, listen, adapt, perfect, until that click happens... when you know that the client and you have reached "The Design" and then to work.
And once I have all the information I need, I start working. Sometimes it takes a few conversations, some feedback and some changes until the client is happy with the design, but once that is reached... The fun part begins.
I am not going to lie, I always feel a rush of fear and adrenaline just before I start a project.
Fear because I don't want to disappoint or let my client down; and adrenaline, as I get so excited to start a new project and a new vision.
But then, slowly it starts coming together, and I can't stop. And then I make sure that everything is perfect. I check and double-check before I sent the final pictures and result to my clients.
And the nerves... before they see the final piece and you wait for them to decide if they like it or not...
And happiness... when they do like it. And you deliver the piece and wait for the pictures of the piece in its new home.
This is my passion. This is my dream come true.
And I can't wait to work with more of you and more interior designers to create eco fibre art pieces that make your home unique, warm and sustainable.
Contact me if you are an interior designer that would like to work with me, or you are a business or homeowner that would like me to design an art piece for that empty wall or space.
