THE SUSTAINABLE 2020 CHRISTMAS IG LIVE SERIES (9)

EPISODE 9 - Louise from Upcycled Upholstery

Louise's favourite colour is Neon Orange, and her personality shows it.

I met Louise through Beckenham Place Mansion (https://www.beckenhamplace.org/)

her studio and her art happens there and as I delivered a few workshops there this autumn, I found that we both shared the same Sustainable dream. So when the idea popped in my head to create the Sustainable 2020 Christmas she had to join the group of inspiring local businesses truly trying to make a difference with what we love and do on a daily basis.

With a background in product buying for many well stablished brands she realised there was a limited option for homeware and interior design products.

This together with her passion for sustainability got her to become the founder and artist behind all the creations at Upcycled Upholstery.

As she says: "We create statement pieces that do not cost the earth - literally! We aim to offer homeware that is distinctively different at an affordable and accessible price point without compromising on quality, style or the planet."

Here is her sustainable journey, as shared by Louise in her website.

"Join us on our sustainable journey as we create products that are sustainable, stylish yet affordable.

Sustainability is at the core of everything we do and the basis of how Upcycled Upholstery was born.

We are conscious about our impact on the planet and so are our customers. Our aim is to grow the circular economy and reduce waste. It’s that simple.

All of our product is upcycled from its existing form and we source vintage, secondhand, pieces heading to landfill; you name it, we will source it.

We then re create the piece to be the best version of itself with new eco-friendly, sustainable fabric. We use off cuts to produce our home accessories range as well to reduce waste.

By buying one of our products or service you are contributing to saving the planet and boy, that feels good!
